CKC Umuezigwe Marks the End of 2025 Apostolic Work
August 17, 2025The women of Christ the King Catholic Church (CKC) Umueziegwe gathered in joy and thanksgiving to mark the Grand Finale of the 2025 August Meeting, a cherished annual event that celebrates the strength, resilience, and spirituality of Catholic women.
This year’s celebration was themed “A Hopeful Woman Walks and Works with Faith” (Hebrews 11:1–6). The theme was prayerfully broken open on Saturday by a priest, who reminded the women and indeed the entire parish community of the transforming power of hope and the unshakable strength of faith in the life of every Christian woman. He encouraged the faithful to embrace faith not only as a belief but as a way of life, especially in moments of family, social, and community challenges.
The event itself was both colourful and spirit-filled. It combined prayers of thanksgiving, joyful songs of praise, and cultural displays that reflected the beauty of tradition. Families whose lives mirror true Christian values were also recognised and celebrated, bringing the entire parish community together in gratitude and unity.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was the presentation of the Model Christian Couple of the Year Awards to Engr. & Mrs. Gerald Ugoanyanwu, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Agoha, Mr. & Mrs. Okechukwu Dinmah, and Mr. & Mrs. Collins Nwokorie. These couples were honoured for their exemplary Christian living, their dedication to the faith, and their outstanding contributions to the growth of both the church and the wider community. Their lives serve as a reminder that the Christian family remains the foundation upon which strong communities are built.

The 2025 August Meeting Grand Finale was more than just an annual gathering. It was a testimony to what faith-filled women can accomplish when united in prayer, love, and service. It was also a joyful moment of renewal, where the parish collectively acknowledged that behind every thriving family and community are women of unwavering faith.
As the curtains closed on this year’s August Meeting, one truth rang out clearly: When a hopeful woman walks and works with faith, her family and community are strengthened.
CKC Umueziegwe gives thanks to God for a successful celebration and looks forward to an even more fruitful gathering in the coming year.
