Deanery

Christ the King Parish is one of the eighteen catholic churches that make up Obowo Deanery, which initially comprised all the catholic parishes in Obowo LGA, Imo State. However, in September 2023, the deanery was reorganised, and we now belong to Obowo West Deanery, made up of 10 parishes, with its headquarters at Immaculate Heart Parish, Alike Obowo. The first Dean of Obowo West Deanery was Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Mark Okoro, from September 2013 to September 2024, who also serves as the parish priest of Immaculate Heart Parish, which remains the headquarters. Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael Okafor presently is the Dean of the obowo west deanery The deanery holds monthly deanery drives, during which priests working in the deanery celebrate Sunday masses in parishes outside their own. The deanery has about eighteen priests and numerous male and female religious working in the parishes and schools.
