October 28, 2024FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH 2024
December 21, 2024At Christ the King Church (CKC) in Umuezigwe, Amuzi Obowo, the week leading up to our annual feast day is always special. It’s a time when faith meets action, a week of prayers, charity, and community joy that reminds us of Christ’s love.
This year, the celebration began on November 20th with a three-day prayer crusade that brought the church family together. The prayers were heartfelt, the faith was palpable, and the spirit of unity was strong. But it wasn’t just about spiritual nourishment.
For some, it was their first opportunity to see a health professional in months. For others, it was a moment of reassurance. For everyone, it was a powerful reminder of what it means to feel seen and cared for, not just by people, but through the love of God made real through others.
On November 21st, the church grounds buzzed with activity for a very special event: the Free Medical Outreach. People from across the community gathered, hopeful and curious. Medical professionals were on hand, offering free health checks, consultations, and care. Mothers brought their children, elders sought advice, and families found relief in the hands of those dedicated to their well-being.
The following night, November 22nd, the week concluded with an all-night worship and prayer program. Songs of praise echoed, prayers rose to heaven, and the community stood together in faith and celebration. Finally, on the Sunday feast day, the church crowned the week with the Christ the King procession, marking the end of the liturgical year with joy and thanksgiving.
Looking back, it was clear this wasn’t just another celebration. The outreach, the prayers, the procession, everything came together as a testimony to the power of love in action. At CKC Umuezigwe, it’s our mission to bring Christ into the hearts of all who join us, whether through a smile, a prayer, or a helping hand.
This year, we ended the liturgical year with gratitude, knowing that the joy shared, and the care extended reflected God’s glory. The story doesn’t end here. Each life touched, each heart uplifted, carries that love into the world. To God be the glory!
